What he probably means is that you are ionizing your hands and, with that, since same type of energy, so say + and +, repel, your hands will repel each other, what will then make whatever is really light and almost transparent, so thin, be in between in a situation of not being able to move. It is quite an interesting story. For this trick to last for longer, you would obviously have to keep the ionization going, so say someone else replaces that person after doing the same with their hands, and so on. Worth thinking about ways to make the effect last for longer.
