Pill for Men: Experiment
Pill on Them brings a quite interesting experiment. It is good saying that men can also do vasectomy, which is a surgery that removes fertility (but not potency). They could have given them a special container with the pills, so that they would have the counting and all, as most women do. That would be even more realistic. The men who participated seem to be quite cool compared to others in terms of empathy and probably solidarity.
Oral contraceptives for men are not yet available at the drug stores but they are on the make: Birth Control for Men
I feel that there is a potential issue with trust here: in the same way men cannot trust women entirely in terms of them taking the pills as they should, even because there are memory and routine problems that could be seen as genuine, women cannot trust them entirely either, so that, even if we already had those, they seem to mean nothing.
There is a contraceptive that is an injection, which I got to know about simply because I 'finally' conversed with a highly promiscuous woman in Brazil, someone who makes a tally on her bedroom by the time I was with her, so literally takes pride on the counting and hopes to be a Guiness Book record holder or something: Depo Provera or Depo Ralovera. This injection covers the woman for three months in a row each time and several women testify on its efficacy. They could have this contraceptive spread as standard for women and make the equivalent for men be a reality in our drug stores: no side effects and reliable cover.
With the depo, the partner may accompany them during the injection rites and therefore be sure of the coverage, which has to be something basic for a couple, specially if the Christian churches keep on insisting on being against abortion.
